It continues from where it was left off in season 3, with two versions of Sabrina on earth, one being the Greendale bound Sabrina Spellman and the other being her doppelganger Sabrina Morningstar, ruler of hell. Sabrina and her gang are faced with the task of defeating the ancient inhuman, immortal, world-destroying entities known as the Eldritch terrors. At the end of the season, we see Sabrina Morningstar succumb to the attack of the final Eldritch Terror, the Void. 

It is up to Sabrina to prevent the Void from causing any more harm to others’ lives. She ultimately does save everyone else with the help of Nick Scratch. During their heroic efforts, we see that Sabrina dies and so does Nick, who takes his life to be with Sabrina. The pair are later reunited in the afterlife.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 5 Release Date

Unfortunately, Netflix confirmed that the show will not be returning for a fifth season, leaving the fans dissatisfied with the ending of the show. It was confirmed by Craig Forest that season 5 of the show would be released as a comic book instead of a TV show format. Netflix has unfortunately canceled Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 5.

The fans reacted negatively to the news of the cancellation of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and not getting a proper closure to their favorite show left them unhappy.

A section of the fans even signed petitions asking for a new season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina which amassed around two hundred and fifty thousand signatures.

Creator Roberto-Sacasa also revealed that had  Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 5 been made it would’ve been a crossover with the show Riverdale, which many fans were anticipating before Netflix announced the cancellation of the teen-witch drama.

On a positive note, fans were able to see Kiernan Shipka, the actress who plays the titular character, Sabrina Spellman reprising her role in the sixth season of Riverdale.

Aguirre-Sacasa also spoke of a possibility of continuing to work with Kiernan Shipka and hopefully make a stand-alone movie based on the comic books or revive the series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina eventually.
