Record of Ragnarok is a thrilling affair and the fantasy-action series creates a classic martial arts-style tournament out of a fairly high-concept premise. Every 1,000 years, the gods gather to determine humanity’s fate, and in “Record of Ragnarok,” they decide humanity is irredeemable and must be wiped out. The Gods gather after a 1000 years since their last meeting, at the council of Valhalla. The purpose of this meeting is to decide the fate of humanity. Brunhilde Valkyrie opposose to the destruction of mankind and instead, proposes the Gods to hold a ragnarok to test the power of mankind. 

The ragnarok competition is a one-on-one battle between thirteen humans and thirteen gods. If mankind is successful, they can live another 1000 years, as long as they win seven victories. The first matchup of the ragnarok sees two of the strongest beings representing each sides. Nordic lord of thunder, Thor takes on Lu Bu the strongest of all chinese heroes.

Many twists unfold as the Gods are astonished to see Thor being pushed to fight at his fullest by Lu Bu and to their surprise it is revealed that Lu Bu possesses a divine weapon with the help of which he manages to unarm Thor off his hammer. The Gods, Zeus in particular is able to figure out that the Valkyries are rebelling against the Gods by helping humans to defeat Gods in the Ragnarok. 

The Action-packed series goes on to see the Gods lifting their guards up and strategically deciding their plan to fight the humans in the ragnarok, the humans that they were planning to obliterate have grown stronger and mightier thanks to their allegiance with the Valkyries.

Record Of Ragnarok Season 2 Release Date

The production of ‘Record of Ragnarok’ was handled by Studio Graphinica in collaboration with Warner Bros. Japan, which produced the first season. Episodes in the first season run for 24-25 minutes each. The first season was announced in 2020 and was released mid 2021. With the rapid gain in popularity it was revealed shortly after that the producers confirmed that the show will be renewing for season 2. The show will also be getting a a release on Japanese Televison apart from the Netflix release.

An exact release date hasnt been announced yet but if the pattern of season 1 is to be followed then Record of Ragnarok Season 2 might be released somewhere around late 2022 or even early 2023. 

Record Of Ragnarok Season 2 Plot

Match 5 will likely feature Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, battling Raiden Tameemon, a legendary sumo wrestler from Japan, and his Valkyrie partner Prudr. Assuming Shiva wins the match, the gods will once again lead the tournament. In match 6, However there might be an interesting twist involving Buddha, the creator of Buddhism, stepping up to fight.
